Lost parcel sent with ebay Evri label - no recall to ebay

Question

I sent a collectors item to my buyer using an Evri label bought directly through ebay.

The item never arrived and Ebay refunded my buyer.

I have been given the run around by Evri for weeks who now tell me that as the label was bought through Ebay, Ebay are responsible for my compensation.

Ebay say they are not responsible for anything.

Where do I stand. The item is lost, buyer was refunded and I can't claim anything?

@dollydele14 Looking at your current listings, you're using eBay Simple Delivery labels, you're not buying them yourself, your buyers are.

eBay Simple Delivery covers sellers against their items getting lost or damaged, if this happens then eBay make the refund and the seller keeps the original payment. Are you sure that you've made the refund here?
