Lost item and no one will refund the sale value
I sold a ski jacket last year. Royal Mail lost it. Ebay said I needed to contact Royal Mail to get a product value refund. Ebay credited back the buyer and took the proceeds back off me, Ebay have now closed the sale.
Royal Mail have come back and said that the postage was purchased by Ebay and not me, they will only deal with Ebay on recovering the value, but like I said Ebay have closed the matter and I can't get any help from them.
Any tips on what I do next or do I have to accept that I have lost the sale value?
Thanks

·6 months agoIf you sent it using the Ebay Simple Delivery label, you should have been protected.
The proper procedure is that the buyer opens a case stating they have not received the item, Ebay refunds the buyer and you keep the payment from the buyer.
Did the buyer open an 'item not received' case or did you refund the buyer assuming you would get a refund from RM?

OP6 months agoThe buyer opened the case and eBay refunded them. EBay took the value of the sale back from me and left it I had to chase Royal Mail to get my money back. Royal Mail say they will not deal with me because eBay purchased the postage from them and not me.
Not sure where to go with this now.
Thanks for responding

Mentor6 months agoIf you used the SD postage label ebay should have refunded themselves. Contact them and see what they say. You can ask them to call you from here:
