Lost and refunded item returned, who owns it?

I sold and posted an item that was lost by the delivery service and the buyer was refunded through ebay. Now months later the item has been found and returned to me. Who now owns the item as the buyer and myself have both been paid/refunded for any money lost?

I'd say that you own it as it's been returned to you. There isn't a way to send it to some eBay warehouse for them to sell.

Certainly ebay would not want it and they have not made any provision in their plan for seller to repay them. Perhaps if the cost becomes excessive, ebay may rethink the process.
