Listings not appearing
I've recently checked some of my listings that aren't selling by doing a search for them. If i type the full item title it is in the top ten which is fine. If i type say 3 words from the title it doesn't appear at all.
This can't be normal especially when I'm promoting my listings higher than recommended ad rate.
Does anyone have an idea why this is?

·10 months agoPromoting it will make it appear in slots reserved for promoted listings. It won't improve it's standing in the Best Match algorithm. Tbh, a listing that's been on since June and had no sales is pretty much dead in the water. You may as well end it and start it again using Sell Similar.

Mentor10 months agoI can see you currently have 252 live listings.
Can you give us an idea of how many , and which items are not showing.
Different devices / browsers can throw up listings in different places in search.

OP10 months agoIt's happening on most that have little or no sales.
For example item 357100562651
If i search rod connector nut it doesn't show.
But it i type hex threaded rod connector nut it does.
Why is ebay search not picking up keywords from my title unless i type almost the exact title?

·10 months ago@az-fasteners I've just searched rod connector nut and ordered by newly listed and then by lowest price and that listing is there in the correct place in the sort orders. Searching by "best match", again the listing is there but it's in position 152 from the bottom of over 2,700 listings so is unlikely to be seen by anyone who doesn't change their sort order to something useful instead of the godawful "best match" default. Sadly, not nearly enough buyers even know that they can do this.

OP10 months agoThanks for your response. Shouldn't the fact I'm promoting this listing at above the recommended % mean it should appear higher even in the 'best match' results?
If not i don't see how promoting my listings is helping. Kind of frustrated with ebay as I'm competetivly priced but they show the same 4/5 sellers at top of search results no matter how much i promote or lower prices etc. I've tried changing titles, descriptions, photos, pretty much everything. Feel like giving up sometimes.
