You would first need to sign our of this UK site, and sign into your homesite which will be www.ebay.com

You need to decide what you wish to sell. If your unwanted used items such as your clothing, household items, then you need to open a Private Account.

If you wish to sell all Brand New items, or you are going to buy items to sell , then you need to open a Business Account.

Into Help & Contact top of your homepage / Overview write in... ' How to Start Selling'. You'll need to sign up for eBay's Managed Payments, too. This explains how...

Once you decide what you are wishing to sell, type in that item into the big Search bar top of the eBay homepage and click on Search on the right. See how other sellers are listing the same items you wish to sell, and importantly the prices showing. If you go down the left hand side of the page go to sold see what the items actually sold for to give you an idea how much to list your prices.
