Late postage
Sold an item but was sent a message later from him to say he did NOT want the package sent this week as he was away. Will send it to him this weekend but ebay suggest I should put this in my postage policy. This is not possible as the buyer did not send the message requesting the delay until after he placed the order. Should I ignore the "postage overdue" message from ebay?

Mentor1 week agoYou shouldn't ignore it late postage marks are not good for your account.
Annoying when buyers do this ask After buying!..
Best way forward is to send a polite message that to avoid a damaging delivery strike on your account, if it's not possible to send the item now, you will have to cancel the order which will refund them, then relist when they are home to receive it for them to buy the item again.
You need to then cancel the order citing @ Buyer requests to Cancel' as this will not impact your seller performance, explain this to your buyer.

OP1 week agoHi Thanks for your reply. I have done this now but it is two days after the deadline so I hope ebay will NOT give me a delivery strike. Also, the message that the buyer sent to me was through ebay so they can/could see the reason for the delay. At this time of year people are away on holidays but they don't want to miss out on an item which is why this buyer ordered it. Perhaps the ebay agents should realise this before giving automatic strikes.

Mentor1 week agoAutomatic is the correct word to us or perhaps automated! M ost things are bot driven, so if an item is shown to be posted late yes it may be flagged with a defect.
If this happens contact Customer Services, direct them to the message asking you to delay posting by ** days, for which you had to cancel the order for it to be relisted at a later date for the buyer hence the delay.
If you need to later, I admit, contacting eBay Customer Services is not easy nowadays to get a live agent , but some have had success using the app, otherwise keep typing in ' I wish to speak to an agent' and this too can work.
