I posted the wrong item to a buyer yesterday, I realised this morning as their item is still here and the other item is showing that I haven't generated a label. I have messaged the buyer and told them, apologising and asking them not to open it and I will contact ebay and ask how I resolve this (I haven't had a reply from the buyer yet, so assume they haven't read my message). The first thing I wanted to do was get another label so I can post out the correct item. But as I done it through Ebay Simple Delivery it is only bringing back up the original label and there doesn't seem to be an option for me to purchase another at my expense? It says contact Customer Services, which I have done. It took them half hour to decide that they couldn't help me and someone in another department would contact me in 48-72 hours!!! This is insane, surely its not thats difficult to help me with this, it can't be that much of an unusual occurance? Any ideas of what I can do to resolve this mre quickly?

Send the buyer a message apologising for the error, and ask them as soon as they receive this item, to open a case for item not as described.... Does Not Match Photos or Description. On receipt of this case you will send them a paid tracked postage label to return your item, and on receipt of the item, you will fully refund through the case details.
You will relist the item for them to buy and pay again, maybe with some discount on the price, but that's entirely up to you. Just ensure the buyer is online to buy their item again , and it doesn't get sold to someone else.
Or, as suggested when your ' wrong' item is returned, take the correct item pay for its postage to resend and keep that proof of posting, nothing here is done through eBay so neither you nor the buyer has any eBay cover.

·5 months agoReally, the only way for you to sort this out is to keep in touch with your buyer.
When they get the parcel, they should open a return through Ebay stating the item is 'not as described'.
If you want the item back, you will have to provide them with a return label.
You can take the item they should have been sent to the Post Office and buy a label to send it.
There is not anything Ebay can do to sort this out.
Unfortunately, when sellers make an error like this, they do have to sort it out themselves.
