Items bigger than 61 x 46 x 46 cm
Summary: jaynbailli0 is looking for advice on selling larger items through eBay and faces challenges with postage options since their items exceed the parcel size limits. eBay's suggested options don't seem suitable, and they are concerned about potential delays or surcharges. **peaseblossom** advises listing with free postage, integrating cost into the item price, and buying postage outside eBay. jaynbailli0 considers paying extra for selecting multiple categories, but papso22 cautions that categories must be relevant to the items sold.
I have a few items i want to sell thats bigger than a medium parcel 61 x 46 x 46 cm.
The items are a few framed posters:
75 x 55 cm 2.5kg
1m x 70cm 3.5kg
and a simpsons cardboard cutout 116 x 68cm 2kg.
I've been told by ebay to just select the recommended option which would be a small parcel at 45 x 35 x 16cm 1kg. but this is way under and im worried that it will get delayed, sent back or the customer having to pay surcharge to receive it.
The other option was to uncheck the royal mail courier but that made no difference and i would like to use royal mail for customers to get a better postage price on my other items im selling.
Has anyone else had this problem? because it seemed like it was news to ebay and were unaware of this problem.
Is there a solution to this? All that i thought of was to put it into a random category like furniture /chairs then have the oversized option available to put in my custom delivery details and post it myself.
Thanks

OP2 weeks agoThis seller is able to sell an item 296950939893 with custom oversized postage £11.95, but for some reason when i click 'sell one like this' i dont get that option, only the maximum medium parcel size. could someone do me a favour and click on 'sell one like this' and see if you get the oversized custom postage option too. thanks

Mentor3 weeks agoYou could list with free postage, factor that cost into your item price and buy your own postage outside of eBay. There would still be a Simple Delivery label which you can open to get the buyer's full address but you can claim a refund for it. You can't change tracking number but you would be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if that were necessary. Payment may be held for 14 days.

OP2 weeks agoThats a good idea thank you. i also thought maybe pay extra and select 2 categories in the listing.

Mentor2 weeks agoYour selected categories still need to be appropriate for the item you are selling.
