Item sold "buy it now" incl. postage - bur buyer is 10mins from my home ...
Summary: luca4rob sold a rare record player cartridge with a 'Buy It Now' option and the buyer, who lives nearby, prefers to collect the item to avoid postal risks. luca4rob is concerned about not having an eBay code and ensuring the item is marked as 'delivered' to get paid. **peaseblossom** suggested canceling the transaction with mutual agreement, relisting as collection only, and having the buyer purchase again to receive the necessary collection code.
Hi,
I sold a rare and valuable record player cartridge last night with bthe buyer selecting "Buy It Now" and paying including postage.
As it turns out, the buyer lives a few minutes away and neither of us want to risk the postal service (nor an exorbitant fee to insure it).
I'm fine for him to come and collect it ...but I won't have the eBay code of course and presumably it won't show as "delivered" and I might not get paid!
I've searched through eBay's online solutions but no success.
Thanks in advance
Rob

Mentor1 week agoYou would get paid although the money would probably be put on hold for 14 days. If you want to keep the transaction on ebay it would be best to cancel/refund with buyer's agreement and relist as collection only for them to buy and pay again. Then they will receive the collection code to give to you to prove they have the item.
