Item showing as not returned
Summary: kiwibuzz79 returned an item using a label provided by a seller but encountered issues entering the tracking details into their returns information. The seller was rude and abusive, making direct contact undesirable. kiwibuzz79 has struggled with eBay's customer service, which suggested contacting the seller again or waiting for the returns window to close. tressygirl advised that the tracking could take some time to update, and once 48 hours have passed from receipt without a refund, kiwibuzz79 could escalate the issue for eBay to intervene and force a refund, correcting the misleading advice received from customer service.
I returned an item last week, using the label sent to me by the seller and I am unable to enter the details into my returns information. The seller was unfortunately extremely obnxious and sent me extremely unpleasant and abusive messages for a few days because I was returning a defective item so I can't get in contact with them to confirm that the item was being returned but trying to get information from ebay is painful. Every time I enter the tracking number from the returns label, the page loops around again and tells me that I still need to return my item. Does anyone have advise on how to proceed with a case like this?

OP1 week ago · EditedI returned via Royal Mail and yes, I have the returns receipt. I'm trying to enter the tracking information into the returns details but the website won't let me.
Just had an extremely unpleasant experience trying to deal with ebay "customer service" who have informed me I have two options: get back in contact with the seller, despite me telling them about the experiences I've had with this person, or wait until the returns window has closed.

Mentor1 week agoI believe once scanned the item's tracking is automatically entered, can be slow to show.
Once 48 hours has passed from when the item is received, and it is timed to the second, and with no refund, you can escalate to eBay ask them to step in and they'll force the refund.
The CS agent was very wrong in telling you to wait for the return window to close! Once a case is closed another cannot be opened for that item with eBay.
