Item Returned to Seller: Incomplete Address
This has happened twice over the last two days: once as a seller and once as a buyer. Both issues concern collection point addresses using Simple Delivery.
I sold an item using Simple Delivery. I attached the Simple Delivery label to my parcel and posted it at the post office. The package was returned to me (the seller) yesterday with a Royal Mail sticker saying 'address incomplete'. The address on the label gives the buyer's name, then repeats the road name twice, followed by the town and postcode. A search of the postcode shows only one collection point, where the first line of the address is the name of the store. The store name has been completely omitted from the address label. The buyer has used this collection point for purchases many times without problem. As far as I can tell, this is precisely what happened to my purchase as a buyer too: Simple Delivery is omitting the first line of the address, and the items are returned to the sender.
As a seller, what are my options? The buyer is still keen to have the item. I am perfectly happy to refund the cost of the item, but if I also refund the postage, I will be out of pocket. Will eBay refund the postage cost? How does the process work? Can anyone tell me what to do in this situation?
I am very grateful for any help with this.
