Item Removed - Guidance/Clarification Required
Summary: bokv_98 attempted to list used hearing aids on eBay but the listing was removed for violating their Medical devices and equipment policy, which requires a prescription for such items. red_magpie explained that eBay relies on user reports for policy enforcement, and it may be that only their listing was flagged. *vyolla* added that listing hearing aids requires proper registration with the Health & Care Professions Council and provided a reference to eBay's policy.

I have just tried listing a used pair of hearing aids, which has been removed by Ebay reference below
"We reviewed your appeal of an action on your account. Upon further review, we’re unable to grant your appeal because the listings aren’t following our Medical devices and equipment policy. You listed a product with ingredients that require a prescription from a licensed practitioner (such as a doctor, dentist, veterinarian, or optometrist) to dispense. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you please not relist in this case.
What this means for you:
We need you to take action to avoid listing items like this again.
Listings that didn’t follow this policy will remain removed or hidden until they can be edited to address the policy issue.
Any restrictions or suspensions that may have been placed on your account will remain in place. Listings will automatically be restored and show up in search results after the end of any temporary restriction.
Please ensure that you understand our policy so that you follow it in future listings. Listings that don't follow this policy in the future may result in additional actions, which could include: restriction, suspension, hiding listings from search, ending listings, loss of seller rating, and forfeiture of fees.

I am a bit confused, as there are multiple new and used hearing aids being advertised via Ebay. Is anyone able to assist please as Ebay are not responding

Mentor1 month agoYou can't list them, eBay's policy states:
Hearing aids may only be listed by sellers who are properly registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
Your listing must display your registration number with the Health & Care Professions Council.

Mentor1 month agoWhat counts is whether the item you were selling was covered by eBay's policy on devices requiring a prescription? If so, forget it and move on. There is no point in complaining that other similar items are still for sale. eBay mostly relies on other users to report listings, so it may just be that yours was reported but others were not. This is eBay.
Another reason may be that even a quick glance at aids on sale here shows that many are just inexpensive "over the counter" hearing aids that do not require any form of prescription. These are not covered by eBay's restriction.
