Item removed during transit... Only empty box delivered.
I sold an item. Packaged it up... Took it to the post office and sent it... Got an email from the buyer saying they received an empty box. I'm not getting anywhere with the courier yet so am at a loss... I've checked on ebay but it mostly covers buyer protection... How can I sort this so neither myself or the buyer is or of pocket as it looks like the item was stolen somehow and the empty box retaped.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you used simple delivery then a damaged in transit claim is Ebay's responsibility.
If you used custom postage it's down to you to refund and deal with the courier.

Mentor3 weeks agoAsk the buyer to open a return using the reason "damaged in transit”. Then they will get their money back from ebay and you keep the payment. They will not be required to send the packaging back.
