Item ordered but collection only seller refuses to cancel
Summary: mwri5765 shared a situation where their 91-year-old father inadvertently bought a collection-only item online and couldn't cancel it despite contacting the seller. They expressed frustration as the seller refuses to cancel and the item is non-returnable. **peaseblossom** suggested opening a 'not received' case through the purchase history and escalating it if needed.
Hi, My dad (91!!) placed an order and didnt realise it was collection only.... and bought the item. Unfortunately when I realised I tried to cancel - seller refuses to cancel. Do we have any recourse at all or is that it?
Have told my dad not to use Ebay again... so hopefully he wont venture ontot he site again. Its only 52 quid but hey thats not the point.
All the AI stuff says to wait until he receives it - but the item has a no return policy... plus its to be collected anyway.. so think we are stuffed.
Thanks Richard

Mentor3 weeks agoJust wait until the estimated delivery date has passed, then open a not received case. If no response from seller on day 4 escalate to ebay.
Very foolish of seller, he could have cancelled which automatically refunds, but now will take about 10 days. You will be able to leave feedback.

Mentor3 weeks agoYou should still be able to open a "not received" case via the dropdown menu arrow for the item on your purchase history page. Escalate it after 3 complete working days.
