Item not received after 48 days
Summary: classiccardetailing is frustrated after ordering an item on eBay that hasn't arrived since July 29th, despite attempts to contact the seller and request a cancellation. A response from **peaseblossom** suggests pursuing a refund or chargeback through the payment provider. classiccardetailing expresses concern that others might be affected similarly, while john1297576 points out that buyers should be aware of the eBay 30-day money back guarantee.
Hi All,
I ordered an item on eBay on 29 July'26, didn't arrive and no updated delivery date by 14 August. Cancelled order request sent via eBay. Cancellation request declined 17 August. Sent 2 messages asking seller to update delivery date or refund. No answer from seller. Now 15 September, item says "the seller has sent your order" but no tracking available, still no item, no advised delivery date, cancellation window closed by eBay. What the heck do I do now? It seems that the seller is exercising a right to silence as are eBay.

Mentor3 weeks agoAssuming it's more than 30 days after the estimated delivery date it'll be too late for ebay but contact your payment provider and ask about a refund or chargeback.

OP3 weeks agoThank you, PB.
If it was just me, I'd almost be inclined to let it go. My concern is with the many others who may be similarly effected .

Mentor3 weeks agoNo others are affected, if you buy on ebay you are expected to be aware of the 30 day money back guarantee. There is a link on every listing but no one bothers to read about how it works.

OP3 weeks agoHi John, thanks for that. I will be bear that in mind. I think the reason people don't read the linked info is because they may mistakenly think that every seller is honest and willing to get things right and that, if all fails, consumer rights protection is there to fall back on. Not so, if you fail to report within 30 days it seems there's only a slim chance you'll get your money back. Good marketing strategy? No. Sharp practice? Quite possibly.
