Item not delivered, no refund
Summary: hardcorejunglism reported an issue with an undelivered item from a seller, despite tracking information stating it was delivered. They were instructed to close an eBay request by the seller's customer service, who then refused a refund. *vyolla* suggested contacting the payment provider for a possible chargeback, depending on the payment method used.
Hello,
I am having an issue with an item bought off Music Magpie recently.
I didn't receive the item despite the Evri tracking saying it was delivered (see attached photo).
I opened a "item not received" with ebay and Music Magpie and the replied saying to contact their customer service on their website. From there they said they could issue a refund within 24 hours as they could see it hadn't been delivered. I waited and nothing happened so emailed again and they said that I'd need to close the ebay request first, which I did (guessing I shouldn't have!) and eventually I got an email saying they wouldn't be issuing the refund as their accountant said "it's been delivered".
Understandably I'm not impressed with this outcome and feel like I've been tricked into closing the request on ebay by their customer service.
Many thanks,
Danny

Mentor1 month agoEven if you hadn't closed the case eBay would probably have found in the seller's favour. eBay goes by the tracking record and if this says it's been delivered your claim would have failed. The onus would have been on you to appeal, and prove that it was incorrectly delivered. (If it had been left on the doorstep and stolen after delivery this would not have been covered by eBay's money back guarantee.)
Delivery issues have become one of the biggest risks of buying on eBay.
