Item not as described Refund
Summary: annemarie7846 described purchasing a coffee maker listed as new but received a used and damaged item. They initially filed a dispute with PayPal, which was resolved with only a partial refund, and now cannot start a return on eBay due to the existing dispute. Despite cancelling the PayPal dispute, eBay's system still restricts them from initiating a return. **peaseblossom** suggested contacting PayPal to clarify the partial refund issue since eBay won’t allow a new case.
I purchased a coffee maker described as New and photos to show.
Item I received was old, worn, dirty and broken and a used pod!
I initially tried to stop my Paypal payment with a dispute on Paypal
rather than Ebay.
On ebay I tried to start the returns process for a refund and a return label.
Unfortunately I ge this message:
We can't process your request at this time
Unfortunately, you can't file this request. You already filed a dispute for this order with your payment institution.
I have since cancelled the dispute with Paypal but cannot proceed further as above message is stopping me.
I have requested seller refund me but they say its up to me to start the returns process which I am unable to do.
Its so frustrating as I cannot afford to lose out on my payment and left with load of rubbish to throw away.
Would so appreciate any advice and help. By the way Paypal closed the case in my favour but I was only refunded 10p
which is a mistake. Many thanks.

MentorSep 14, 2026 at 10:33 PMebay won't let you open a case with them after one with Paypal. Try to speak with someone at Paypal and find out why the refund was only 10p.
