Mentor10 months agoIf the dustbin gets emptied then yep item will probably be binned too.
Am I right to say you are the seller? Then, your tracking will have shown delivery so you will not have to refund your buyer.
Your buyer must take it up with the courier that their item was not left in a safe place see what they say. If Royal Mail, then they can take it up with their postie explaining where they should leave future items, not inside a bin.
When I have an item to be delivered by a courier, say Evri for example, I receive a message as to where to leave the item, or with a neighbour, should I not be in to receive said item.

Should I let the buyer know or sit tight.

Mentor10 months agoWell you could contact them bearing in mind you are fully covered for item not received, having tracking showing delivery, so they cannot make a false claim here, if that's what you're worried about.
A friendly message to inform them to check the inside of their bin asap, as your photo evidence of delivery shows it could be there!
I would be grateful for that message if that was my delivery , as our bin collection day is tomorrow !

Mentor10 months agoYou need to take it up with the carrier and tell them it’s not a safe place and perhaps ask them to leave somewhere else.
I would suggest that most carriers don’t carry this practice out as as you say it could have repercussions for them if photographic evidence shows that they have left in a bin.

OP10 months agoThis is a new one to me should i email the buyer and let him know where it has been left or hope for the best, i feel i should let him know but then I do not know (and i am sure he would not) but because of where it has been left may say that he did not receive it.
