Item Damaged by Evri in Transit
Summary: sincy231171 experienced issues with a golf club being damaged in transit while using Evri for delivery. They have been caught in a loop between Evri and eBay for over four months, with each directing them to the other. tressygirl suggested that the buyer should open a case on eBay for a refund first, and then sincy231171 can try to claim damages from Evri, though they mentioned that this process is challenging.
I sent a golf club via Evri and the club was snapped in transit. it was packaged in a proper golf club box, but it is obvious something has been put on top to snap the club and the cardboard box. In contacting Evri for over 4 months, they have come back and said I need to contact eBay as i purchased the label through them.
Now eBay say i need to contact Evri directly as they do not deal with delivery issues and I need to contact Evri directly.
Just going round in cricles and no one seems to want to help.

MentorSep 14, 2026 at 8:35 AMIf you sent the club using Simple Delivery your buyer should have opened a case for damaged in transit and ebay would have covered the refund.
If you didn’t use Simple Delivery and bought your evri label through Ebay's Packlink broker you needed to claim through Packlink.
You are too late for anything now.

Then, the buyer needs to open a case for a refund they must choose... ' Damaged in transit' think the wording is ' item damaged in delivery'. eBay take over refunding the buyer, and you get to keep the payout.
If you didn't use SD, the buyer opens a claim for item not as described, you need to fully refund within 3 days through the case details, if you don't , buyer escalates the case to eBay who will force the refund and you get a damaging defect on your account.
The buyer's refund has to be dealt with first, then you try for your claim for a damaged item from Evri, and I believe it's not easy!
