Item arrived damaged and seller kept promising they will send a replacement but never did!
Summary: venc52 shared an experience where an item purchased on eBay arrived damaged. Despite repeated assurances from the seller that a replacement would be sent, and eventually promises of a refund, no action was taken. After raising a ticket with eBay, venc52 found that the seller updated the shipping information with the delivery date of the damaged item, leading to confusion about eBay's intervention and the Money Back Guarantee policy.
an item I orderd on ebay arrived damaged. I informed the seller who via messages said they will send a replacement and kept chasing them several times- they kept saying they will send a replacement. I chased them a final time and they said they will send a replacement or will issue a refund if it does not arrive. It never arrived. I asked for a refund and they say they will refund but no action yet. I raised a ticket with ebay and tagged this as item not received and explained some details but today I got a message that seller has updated shipping information and all they did was to provide the delivery date of the damaged item. Is there something I am missing here? Isn't ebay supposed to step in when these things happen? what about the ebay money back guarantee?

Mentor3 months agoYou can't use "not received" if you got an item from that seller. Start a return on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041
select "Item doesn't match description" and escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.
