Issues with 2 eBay buyers after suspicious biddings.
Summary: dragon8t9 faced issues with two auctions of Pixel 10a phones on eBay, citing suspicious bidding activities from limited locations. After questioning the winning bidders, both had unclear explanations about the bidding locations, leading dragon8t9 to refund their payments. This resulted in negative feedback which dragon8t9 has struggled to address or remove. Other participants noted that feedback removal is unlikely without buyer consent and that canceling orders could negatively impact the seller's reputation on eBay.
Hello everyone,
I had, for auction, 2 de-google Pixel 10a phones at the end of August this year. The auction lasted 10 days and ended on the 2nd of September this month. At the end of the auction the 2 buyers paid straight away in my eBay account. However, I was informed anonymously that I should take a closer look at these winning bids that night. I was in 2 minds whether to bother, but, as it had be bought to my attention then I should at least check, so, that is what I did. On closer inspection there were issues that I hadn't seen during the auction, but, now realise there were suspicious bidding during the 10 days of both auctions.
This auction was for 10 days & during that time I only received 18 bids from 8 bidders. This is very small considering that there were 500 views during that time. The locations of the bids is another, Universities & Bulgaria, no one else bidded, why? University bids were 21, Bulgaria were 9 bids. The same 8 bidders bidded 18 times for a total of 30 bids between them. The Math doesn’t match up. No one else outside of the 2 location bidded during the 10 days of the auction. The next day, 3rd September, I asked the winning bidder about the locations of the bid and he said he knew nothing about it. Yet, all of his bids came from the same University location. On further conversations he then said that he works for a living and has no idea why his bidding location is from a University. It was at this stage I had sent him a full refund as I wasn't happy with his reply which totalled £312.46. Here is the link to his auction below.
This second auction started 30 minutes after the first one for 10 days. There were 25 bids from 10 bidders and over 500 views. On further inspections of the bids yield similar activities in that only 2 locations throughout the bidding process was recorded. There were 39 bids from a University and 1 from Bulgaria. I asked the winning bidder the same question as the first one and got similar replies, he knows nothing about it, even when I point it out to him. His winning bid totalled £403.04 and was from a University. Once again I refunded his funds in full because of the suspicious activities on my auction. He then said that I was cheap and wanted more money, yet, not once did I say that in any of our communications. I only asked him about the actual bidding location. Here is the link to his bidding below;
When I looked at both of the auction bids side by side it looked as if it had been locked down as no-one else bidded throughout the 10 days. They then gave me negative feedback about my character, for which, I wasn't happy about and I have been unable to challenge what they have said. The feedback links on the right of what they have been saying doesn't work, Report this Buyer, Reply and Request revision , don't function. I have been trying since they send feedback about me. I've tried AI and it doesn't give me the correct information. I need to take to a real person as this has been going on for 3 weeks.
Any input is welcome.

OP1 week agoHello, I wasn't aware that no-one can see the links to the web page.

Mentor2 weeks agoThat feedback isn't removable unless your buyers agree to remove it.
There was no valid reason to cancel those orders, just by doing that you've received two damaging defects against your selling account for cancelling the orders. Check your Seller Dashboard and you'll see what I mean. As a low volume seller you can't afford to take that hit.

Mentor2 weeks agoTo cut to the chase, you had buyers, they paid, you refused to sell to them, they left you negative feedback. Ebay won't remove that feedback.

OP2 weeks agoHello,
The cut to the chase is simple if you have looked at the bidding location, but, obviously you didn't. Hence your comment doesn't answer my question.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou asked about getting feedback removed, I explained why it wouldn't be.
