Isn't private selling free?
I recently sold an item for which the buyer was paying postage. I been paid £3 less than the advertised price? I thought selling was free if private?

Mentor1 month agoWas it the done with crying book? It clearly states free delivery which means you pay postage not the buyer, this is why you have had the deduction as you are paying postage.

OP1 month agoYes, that book, but I set the listing as buyer pays postage as it's a VERY expensive book and was already a bargain. In an ebay chat, I was told it's possibly a "mistake" at their end and to ask the buyer for the postage which would be embarrassing to do and not appropriate.

Mentor1 month agoThis is why you should always check listing before sending to auction and when live.
I doubt buyer will send you any extra money.

OP1 month agoThanks. I did check thoroughly and went over it to edit as needs be. I wouldn't approach the buyer, totally inappropriate. It's just annoying for ebay to admit potential error ("our mistake") and then not rectify it. Hmmmmm!
