just got this message about sandals I just sold but have recently just been scammed I'm not sure if it's genuine and was wondering if anybody else had received anything like it?

@maing_9518 as that particular listing is still active and has not sold https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/137021317368 then it's definitely a scam. The user who sent the message is no longer registered so ebay have already removed them Feedback profile. They had uploaded the ebay logo as their profile picture so that the logo appeared next to their message to try and make you believe it was from ebay.

Was it in your Ebay messages?

Did the message address you by your real name rather than your Ebay ID?

My guess would be that it is a phishing email - especially as you are being asked to copy and paste a link.

I would treat is as dodgy and follow the instructions below:

Here are some typical traits of phishing scams:

Asking for confidential information
An urgent or threatening tone that asks you to act quickly
Unsolicited attachments
A generic greeting, like "Attention eBay member"
A web address that looks like eBay, but which may have a typo or extra numbers and letters (like http://signin-ebay.co.uk or http://signin.ebay.co.uk@10.19.32.4)

Report a phishing phone call or email

If you receive a suspicious phone call or email, you should report it to us immediately. Here's how:

Suspicious phone call

Tell the caller that you'll call back through official eBay contact channels. If you missed the call, do not call the number back.
Email us at spoof@ebay.co.uk with details of what the caller asked for, and the phone number they called from.
