Is this a genuine purchase?
Summary: artyphil99 posted about a suspicious purchase situation involving a Google Pixel phone listed on eBay, where buyers from Zambia offered high bids but provided UK addresses for delivery. tobiasd4 and tommystrezures suggested that the UK addresses are likely freight forwarders, which could invalidate the buyer's eBay Money Back Guarantee (MBG) once proof of delivery to the forwarder is provided. artyphil99 appreciated the advice and confirmed the address as belonging to a forwarding service called iShop.

Hi,
I have listed this Google Phone today and have rather oddly received two high offers with both both buyers when checking their profile feedback are based in Zambia - but when looking at details of where the item would be delivered to are both UK addresses - see example below.
Is this a scam and should I cancel the order - all help and advice gratefully appreciated.

Mentor1 month agoAccording to your listing you do not not post Zambia so I am surprise this buyer was able to buy.
What ever is said about Money Back Guarantee being invalidated, I would never send a valuable item to Zambia.
It would be worth knowing the Terms and Conditions of the Forwarding agents if buyer changes their mind.

OP1 month agoThanks guys - really good advice and I just checked the UK address which is iShop - so will forward onto Zambia I guess and as you said "if they are using a freight forwarder, then they actually invalidate their eBay MBG"........great to know that as well!

Mentor1 month agoAlso to add to @tobiasd4 if they are using a freight forwarder, then they actually invalidate their eBay MBG. As long as you prove delivery to the forwarder you excuse my terminology wash you hands of it all.

Mentor1 month agoUK address is probably a forwarding depot, you can check the address on Google, not unusual for non UK buyers.
Only post to address supplied by eBay when buyer pays.
If there is an issue later, you are only responsible for supplying UK postage label, not return from Zambia.
