Is there a new problem with pickup locations?

Three times within the last 5 weeks I've ordered parcels to be delivered to pickup points and the courier has been unable to deliver them to that location. On two occasions, involving the same pickup location, the parcels were fairly large and I wondered whether this was the problem. Is eBay in fact offering click and collect as an option for parcels that are not in fact eligible because they are too big?
The other occasion was a small parcel send via Royal Mail who claimed to be unable to identify the pickup location, which was in fact the local post office. The seller confirmed it had been addressed exactly as per eBay's system. However, the words Post Office do not actually appear on the address as shown by eBay. I only know - or rather, guess - that it means the Post Office because of the street name that's given, because I've been picking eBay parcels up there for years and because as far as I know that's the only pickup point in that street. The address given by eBay used to say Post Office but a while back it changed and no longer does. Usually it still works but on that one occasion it didn't.
This invariably ends in me having to claim a refund because what else can you do, but it can't be good for the sellers and it's not their fault.
Has anyone else had problems with pickup point location addresses being garbled by eBay?

Mentor2 weeks agoCouple of things, parcels may be too large for a particular shop/post office to accept. This could be weight or size related, and in part for many smaller post offices etc they haven't got anywhere to put large parcels.
Secondly the PO scenario, when we had them delivered to us it always said XYZ post office DO - in affect it was for the sorting office that was attached to our PO. Now whether the rules have changed they may have, but if an old fashioned post office, the post code will 99% of the time end AA - the postcodes when they set them up went from the post office outwards if you like. So in this crude example a post code ending AB may be next door or just down the road.
Regardless of not delivering the item should have been held at a sorting office for you to collect (I know on occasion a bit of pain.)

I thought maybe it was about size of parcel. But would it not be better to offer it as option when it is in fact not an option? Or is that too basic.

Mentor1 week agoI think the issue maybe that ebay has no way to know which collection points have not got the room for larger parcels.
If item is not delivered, you open item not received case to get refund.
