Invoice doesn't add up
Summary: The discussion revolves around an invoice discrepancy, though specific details are not provided. peterhw100 initiates the conversation by highlighting an issue with an invoice not adding up. arkwebus and john1297576 engage in the discussion, and further follow-up is provided by peterhw100 and papso22. The conversation seems to involve multiple attempts to clarify or resolve the issue, but the exact nature of the responses is not detailed.
I recently made this puchase (goods arrived today). The price is quite clearly displayed and waht I expected to pay (plus postage I suspect). The invoice appears to be nonsense to me - i.e. doesn't add up and consequently an invalid (probably illegal) invoice. Whilst the VAT was only £0.50 and don't expect that to be an extra on eBay items - i.e. the price is inclusive of all charges unless specified otherwise. The vendor just refers me to eBay and ebay seem incapable on answering or responding to this - to me - seems very simple problem. Appreciate any thoughts and how to resolve

Mentor3 months agoLooks as though seller is in China, so the difference is VAT on the purchase price £7.49 20% = £1.50

Not aware of having any similar issues with other suppliers in China - i.e. the listed Price is what I am charged. Surely if eBay create an invoice it should be correct to be valid and legal

Mentor3 months agoThat didn't look like an invoice, it looked like an order summary.

Yes. Makes sense. I think it was presented as an invoice and appears to contain the information one would expect from invoice.
If it is an order summary - it still doesn't add up though

Mentor3 months agoIs the difference eBay's lovely new "buyer protection fee"? Others will know...
VAT is only on postage or fees.
