International Buyer says item was delivered to a drop off point, they don't know where it is and it's my fault.
Summary: sisbella seeks advice for a delivery issue involving an international sale through eBay Simple Postage. The item reached Germany but was undeliverable at the final stage, leading to confusion with the buyer about its location. tommystrezures suggests checking if the item was sent using eBay's Global Shipping Program (GSP), as this would make it eBay's responsibility. sisbella confirms the use of GSP and attempts using suggested tracking tools, but the issue with the last leg tracking remains unresolved.
Hi there, I was looking for a little bit of support with this sale.
I sold and posted an item through eBay Simple Postage (from UK to Germany, I am a private seller) and it arrived in the destination country okay through the hubs but at the final stage it said it couldn't be delivered and was dropped off to be collected.
The buyer is adamant they didn't receive an email/text and that "eBay has said they won't help them" and basically it's up to me to chase up the tracking number, but I get a prompt before a message with a reminder to tell sellers any issues with delivery to get in contact with eBay.
It's the first time I'm having this issue with international postage, can anyone give any thoughts or advice on this?
Many thanks

Mentor2 weeks agoUsing GSP I thought delivery to the hub, was all that was required of the seller, from that point it became ebay’s problem.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou don't say but its important was the item sent via GSP eg you sent your item to Lichtfield originally?
If you were using GSP its ebays responsibility to deal with as in affect they have lost the parcel, if you sent directly then you will need to deal with it. What does the tracking currently say? and also check it on something called parcelapp its much more accuruate, and also the Deutsche Post website (english is available) to see if there are any further clues there.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedThanks for the reply! I did send via GSP and it was picked up by Pitney Bowes (after it arrived at the hub using the Royal Mail). It got a tracking number from them, but it doesn't seem to have got a last leg tracking number (or that one just isn't working on the tracking websites). Deutsche Poste was a great suggestion, thank you! It didn't work sadly but I thought I had tried them all at this point 😅 Also parcelapp just says it was still being handled by Pitney Bowes and there was no new tracking given.
