So I tried selling my camera for the first time on eBay and got a label from eBay (the simple delivery)
unfortunately Royal Mail has had “we’ve got it” on my tracking history for more than 12 days now and eBay even though they have my tracking number and proof of postage has gone ahead to suspend my account and I can’t even appeal.
this is all confusing .
now eBay is even charging me extra cost for promotion 😂😂
do I take eBay to court?

Mentor3 months agoI think that eBay's AI may have picked up on you selling two duplicate expensive items, both listings for the exact same item with exact same photo on the 10th April and the 18th April.
Go back into one of those listings or click on 'sell similar' to bring up a duplicate copy, scroll down to the postage section and confirm that it says Simple Delivery there.

OP3 months agoReally but the first listing didn’t sell because the buyer was a scam and never even paid so I cancelled to put back the listing and I wasn’t even restricted and yes the postage says it’s simple delivery even EBay confirmed because they gave me the label I used .

Mentor3 months agoHow did you cancel the first sale?
If it was a non payment you needed to cancel after 4 full days had passed, this would give the buyer a deserved non payment strike, and then you were able to relist the item.

Mentor3 months agoNo, you do not take eBay to court !
We have no access to your account so cannot see what you mean exactly by suspension. If you mean there is a hold on your payout for the item, this is perfectly normal for a new account holder or for an intermittent seller suddenly selling an expensive item..
Make sure too, you have registered fully and correctly for eBay's Managed Payments.
Have you provided eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified ? The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive, and confirm to eBay.
Once this is completed, you will be able to list items for sale, and receive payouts from those sales.
This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.

OP3 months agoHi there
thanks for your reply.
somehow eBay refunded the buyer because my camera got lost in transit, and they are even about to charge me extra from my account for promotion.
it was supposed to be taken from the sale made but I didn’t benefit from any sale because I don’t have my camera and I didn’t get paid.
then they permanently suspended me from selling on eBay and this was my very first attempt to sell even though I have been buying for 4years now.

Mentor3 months agoA buying account has no impact and is totally different from a selling account.
Did eBay refund the buyer for the lost item if this was a Simple Delivery transaction they should have done and you get to keep the payout.
I'm afraid the promotion fee should have been paid and if you did not pay this , that is why they suspended your account.
I'm afraid a permanent restriction is not good, it's a lifetime ban from selling, though you should still be able to buy on your account.

OP3 months agoYes EBay refunded the buyer and I never got any proceeds even though tracking says I dispatched the item to the buyer and even have proof.
and yes it was the simple delivery with Royal Mail as the courier.
the promotion fee was supposed to be taken from the sale but I never got the money and they hit me with a permanent restriction from selling.
Som according to them I was protected before selling but lost protection because the item got lost and never delivered.

Mentor3 months agoTracking needs to show delivery not that it was posted.
As it was a SD transaction and lost in the post, eBay refund the buyer and you get to keep the payout. That payout will be sent to you, but with a restricted account because of that non payment of the ad fee, it will be held longer, but you will get it.
Promotional ad fees are optional listing upgrades, if selected, any listing fee is non refundable, it has to be paid.
If this is the reason, it's a shame to lose your selling account for a non payment of a fee.

OP3 months agoSorry I didn’t loose the account because of a fee.
they are two different events.
eBay told me i wont be paid because the proceeds from the sale were used to refund the buyer and this was because the item wasn’t delivered and the account was restricted because activities on the account was suspicious.(it was my first time selling and the first one was a large amount)
then yesterday evening the promotional fee thing came up.
both of them are two different events

Mentor3 months agoAaah, sorry I was only replying to the information you gave in your first post as we have no access to your account, so couldn't see what was paid, what was refunded, but your last post makes this a little clearer!
Refunding for one high item would not permanently restrict your account. If there is no money available in your Payment Summary , then eBay will use your back up source which you registered with Managed Payments, and this is usually your bank account.
The payouts and account may be Temporarily suspended, whilst the case is being dealt with, but it's not a Permanent one.
Was the word ' Permanent' actually in your message from eBay?
