Increasing numbers of scammers on Facebook
More of a warning than a question.
I've been scammed several times recently by sellers selling fake items on Ebay. Things like a DeWalt angle grinder, which turned out to be a Chinese copy-and it wasn't cheap. A pretty dangerous thing, if used. Ebay would not refund until I sent the fake items back (there were a couple of others as well from other sellers), so these things can now be resold. The sellers are still on Ebay. All of them said their stock was UK stock-and then I received notices that items had been shipped from China. Yes, I got refunds in each case and left poor feedback.
More recently, I bought a book from, I thought, a well known and reputable seller by visiting their shop. It turns out that I'd bought a a digital download from a different seller! I received the download link a couple of days after purchase-no, I didn't click on it. I contacted the seller to ask for a refund and raised a return. Then I get this message: "This user cannot receive messages because their account has been suspended or terminated. Please use caution before taking further action." After an hour contacting customer support, I've got a refund.
Be careful, folks. I shall be using Paypal in future on all purchases.
