In the process of purchasing a Vintage Watch
I have been negotiating with the seller for a couple of days - the offers I have made have been refused- but I have not heard directly from the seller -(or did he come back with any counter bids)- I today after my last bid was refused - managed to speak to him - and found out that he wanted the full price for the watch.
It says on his original posting of the watch "great working condition"
Today when I spoke to him he writes "Since I have had the watch for a while, I will need to get it looked over by my Watch maker, as to check that it is running as it should for you. I will keep you updated as to how quickly it can be shipped".
Should I go ahead and buy the watch before waiting to find out how long etc.
The Private seller has 100% with 22 good feed backs (albeit the last one was not recent).
Advice would be helpful.

Mentor11 months agoThe estimated delivery date will show at the top right of the listing.
Once an item has been paid for then the seller must send the item out so that it arrives by that date. If they want to delay doing that they need to take the listing down, get the watch checked and then relist.

OP11 months agoHello - Many thanks - I will inform the seller to do this - whether he will do this or not- we shall see.
Someone else might purchase the item- but I think its too risky to trust this seller,

Mentor11 months agoTo be honest, it's a buyers playing field. You're protected by eBay's 30 day Money Back Guarantee/Buyer Protection against your item not being as described. If it arrives and doesn't match the photos and listing description i.e. it's not in 'great working condition' then you'd open an eBay return and he'd need to issue you with a pre-paid returns label and refund you.
