If you let the 30 days pass all you get from eBay is waffle & refusal to help
Summary: cooltide67 expresses frustration with eBay's customer service after letting 30 days pass without resolution, noting a lack of help and empty responses. arkwebus responds, but the details of their interaction are not provided. cooltide67 continues the discussion with arkwebus, though specifics are also not provided. Separately, red_magpie contributes to the conversation, but their input lacks detail as well.
Little surprised at how totally uninterested eBay are when a seller has strung an issue out to pass the 30 days without ever seeming to have any intention of sending an item they've been paid for.
I don't like to hassle genuine personal sellers, so when the guy gave me various excuses why he hadn't sent the book I accepted the excuse as he was saying he was going to post it.
Now he finally tells me that his dog has damaged the book and he wants my bank details.
Clearly a case where eBay can ensure a safe outcome after a suspect transaction isn't it.
No, because I let it go over the 30 days I get a woman from eBay giving long winded waffle just to avoid saying that they are not interested.
I've found eBay team great when I've needed to sort things like postage as a seller. But as a buyer it is a very different matter. In my experience they always seem to defend bad sellers.

eBay's money back guarantee explains that cases must be opened within the 30 day time limit.
This being the case, why would you be surprised that they won't get involved after 30 days? Both you and the seller accepted this condition in the user agreement. eBay has to comply with its own t&c, just as its users do.
Never expect buying from strangers on eBay to be like the shops. For example, how many users realise that eBay does not guarantee the quality of items sold here, or that they will be truthfully described, safe or even legal? Who would buy from a shop that stated this??
eBay is a jungle. It's so important for buyers to read and understand the conditions, exclusions and time limits that apply for buyer protection.

Mentor4 months agoeBay's time limits are strict and not extendable. It is little comfort perhaps but "what you should have done" is opened a "non receipt case" on the day after eBay's latest date for delivery [no ifs or buts}. Ignore any excuses; there is absolutely no reason to contact the seller. Some sellers lie you may be shocked to know!
It's just possible that you may get money from the seller otherwise [if it is really financially worth it] you can contact your payment provider.
