I want to return an item for refund and it would be nice to speak to a human.
Summary: trickybusa is frustrated that their recently purchased item has broken and they are unable to contact eBay support for a replacement or refund. They express disappointment with eBay's reliance on automated systems, leading to a lack of effective support. tommystrezures and tressygirl explain that as the purchase was made in February, eBay's 30-day money-back guarantee has expired. They suggest contacting the manufacturer for warranty support and advise checking the seller's registration country to avoid similar issues in the future. *vyolla* reiterates that eBay will not assist beyond the 30-day period.
I have an item that I bought in February and have only just been using it, it has broken and I want to return it but the seller is ignoring me and the ebay AI assistant is no use and it will not let me speak to an advisor.
Brushless Cordless 18Ga Brad Nailer Straight Nail Gun For MAKITA 18V NO Battery
This cost me around £59 with postage and I have only used about 3 or 4 hundred nails through it and they are the nails that were supplied with the nail gun.
Surely it must have a years guarantee.
I just want to speak to someone about this and I would either like a replacement or my money back.
Regards.
Richard.

OP3 weeks agoI find it unacceptable that eBay makes it so difficult for customers to contact support directly. The absence of a straightforward email contact and the reliance on automated systems creates unnecessary barriers for customers seeking assistance. This lack of accessibility reflects poorly on eBay's commitment to customer service and customer protection.
As a customer, I expect transparent and effective support channels when issues arise. The current process is frustrating, time-consuming, and falls well below the standard that should be expected from a global marketplace. I request that this matter be addressed urgently and that a representative respond directly to my concerns.

Mentor3 weeks agoThere is no point in trying to contact eBay about this, as explained eBay offers a 30 day Money Back Guarantee and won't get involved past that timeframe.
tommystrezures
Mentor3 weeks agoYou wont be getting that through eBay. They only have a 30 day money back gaurantee. I suspect if you bought it in February you will be outside the time restraints that the financial insititutions offer which is 120 days.
Have you tried Makita? usually warranties are manufacturer ones.

OP3 weeks agoThank you for the reply, but I would have though there would be a guarantee of at least six to twelve months. Anyway don't buy from this place.

Mentor3 weeks agoeBay is not the seller, they are just a selling platform.
Was this by chance a Chinese seller? I only ask as that particular item is sold by many Far Eastern sellers, and unlike a UK Company offering a 6 / 12 month guarantee buying from China, you cannot enforce this.
When buying such items always check where the seller is registered, click on their feedback score this will tell you their country of registration . Many have UK warehouses to facilitate a faster dispatch but the item itself, could still originate from China, and void any long time guarantee over and above eBay's 30 day MBG.
As advised turn to your Payment provider now, for help with a refund.
