I think a buyer is in fact just a shoe/foot fetishist and now has photos of my feet!

I had a message from a buyer last week about a pair of shoes I was selling- wanting to know if I smoke and could I take more photos. It annoyed me as my description said smoke free and I'd taken about 7 clear photos from every angle. I replied to say happy to take more if they could tell me specifically what they needed to see. Heard no more until today - exactly same query regarding a different pair of shoes. I responded with same answer and perhaps foolishly agreed to their request to photograph them while wearing them- I only showed my feet so not a biggie. I had little lace footie socks on. My suspicions were aroused when they kept going on about if I could be tempted to smoke and would I take photos with my feet bare. I said no- got a strange reply saying I would have paid you and for your ciggies too! When I looked they have 100% feedback but only 1 transaction. They kept calling me Hun (which made me think it was a women genuine customer). I will just block them but just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. Hoping my feet don't appear on some porn site!

Mentor4 months agoHas anyone had this problem you ask? Yes, there's been some reports here, and the advice would be never to photograph yourself, wearing any item of clothing / footwear you are selling, including only feet.
It's not necessary, just show the item on as plain a background you can find.
Then weirdos anonymous will not bother you!

OP4 months agoThanks, yes -god advice. I normally just photo the items against a plain background. I only conceded to photographing them on my feet as I thought they maybe wanted a sense of how narrow or wide the shoes were. Lesson learned! I can't stand it when people call me Hun anyway- that should have alerted me sooner!

You did the right thing in blocking them. I doubt if they would have bought anything from you anyway, just timewasters.
A rule of thumb on ebay is never model clothing yourself, we hear from sellers getting all sorts of strange requests to model underwear and other clothing. The usual advice is to ignore and block.
