I need somebody to explain something to me
Summary: incewilliams shares their frustrating experience with eBay regarding an iPhone 17 Pro Max sale. After the phone appeared to not switch on, the buyer requested a return. Despite providing an insured label for return, the package was reportedly misdelivered due to dual addressing, leading to a scam where eBay refunded the buyer without returning the phone. Despite providing Royal Mail proof and a crime number, incewilliams feels ignored and unjustly treated by eBay, particularly while dealing with personal grief.
I am currently being ignored by eBay They don't respond to my emails They refused my callback requests I cannot get in contact with them by chat, I have done nothing wrong apart from used air services which I massively regret, I sold an unwanted upgrade iPhone 17 pro Max unopened, I posted it, I then received a message saying that the phone would not switch on, they wanted to return it so I agreed to the return and I supplied a special delivery postage label that was insured up to the value of the phone and supplied it to them through the eBay returns process
they sent me a piece of paper image with some writing on that says Manchester Post Office Proof of postage, the following day I was expecting the arrival of my phone, it was being delivered to my place of work which is a big shop with two big double doors at the front It's a big pink shop We couldn't look more open if we tried, I then got a notification on my phone " sorry we missed you You was not in" well like I said I work in a shop a big shop So how a postman could mistake the shop for being closed was just stupid, I contacted Royal Mail and asked the lovely lady on the phone about what had happened And she didn't understand what had happened, but she promised me that the phone will be delivered the following day
following day I go to work I get a notification package expected to be delivered today It got to about 12:15 PM, I then got another notification saying package refused, there was no attempt at any package delivery at my place of work, the buyer then as soon as the notification of delivery refused, they then asked eBay to get involved and eBay instantly refunded them, I explained to eBay that there were no attempts to deliver this package to me, they made me feel as though I was the one who had done something wrong, they were hanging up on me in callbacks, they didn't seem to understand the reason why I was so upset, so I had lost the money and I did not have my phone,
after a lot of diving back and forth to the post office On the phone to the post office It turns out that there were two addresses on the package Two post codes So when it was scanned it was coming up as my postal address But when it was being delivered it was going to another address about a mile and a half from my delivery location, royal mail have even provided me with proof of this , I try to present this to eBay But they kept repeating that they could only go by their own tracking on what they see in their tracking, I kept saying to them but that is wrong Your system is wrong It's not factual I know this 'cause I had the facts,
now I have written confirmation from Royal Mail stating that they did not attempt to deliver any package to my delivery address that I used for the return delivery label, they also confirm that there was two addresses on the package, now surely if eBay is relying on Royal Mail tracking well then this direct confirmation from Royal Mail should be enough for them to see that I have actually been a victim of fraud, I have reported it I have sent eBay the crime number, I have sent eBay Royal Mail Investigation number, I possibly couldn't send them any more proof if I tried but yet I'm just ignored I can't contact anybody And when I do I'm just called a liar
so I want someone to explain to me where I went wrong, I did everything that was expected of me as a seller And I had faith in the eBay system that if anything was to go wrong then I was to be protected, this is not the case, I'm not even sure that this post will be visible because they have restricted my ability to post in eBay community, I cannot tell you how all of this has made me feel, my mother died two weeks ago Suddenly So I'm grieving and I'm having to put up with this and the disgusting treatment I have received from eBay, they just keep repeating the failed delivery attempt and the package refused And when I track the item now it says that I'm no longer living at that address So the fact that I can still track the item is also proof I do not have the item as far as I am concerned Ebay is just as guilty as the scammer and it is their platform that gives these scammers the ability do you commit fraud against the people Ebay says they protect
