I left negative feedback for fake item - seller reported it for threats/offensive language
Summary: anythingbuttangerines discussed buying a PS4 controller that turned out to be fake and reported the experience through negative feedback, which was then removed after the seller flagged it as offensive. anythingbuttangerines sought advice on appealing this decision without using the platform's AI assistant and expressed concern that other buyers are unaware of the seller's history. *vyolla* suggested that calling out a seller for counterfeit items is not allowed and advised on returning the item and flagging it as not matching the description to alert the platform. anythingbuttangerines acknowledged this advice, despite finding the rule frustrating.
Hi there, I bought a PS4 controller recently and when it arrived it was a fake. I contacted the seller, but he didn't respond after 2 days so I left negative feedback. Looking at their feedback, they have a history of selling fake items, however he reported my feedback as threats/offensive despite just saying "Item was fake, beware", and now the feedback is gone and I've had a warning.
Is there any way to appeal this that doesn't involve using that god awful AI assistant? For a start nothing about it was offensive, and then there's the fact other buyers won't know he has a reputation of selling fake goods.
Cheers!

Mentor1 month ago · EditedTechnically you can't call a seller out for selling counterfeit product in public domain. Did you return it and get a full refund? If you returned it and selected 'Doesn't match description or photos' and stated that it was fake, along with the reasons why, then this would've flagged the seller up with eBay.
