I got scammed sometime ago,
I sold a brand new phone a few years ago, got scammed, ebay refunded them the money, and I list money and new phone, it was sent recorded at that, but was thinking of selling again, but has anything changed to protect the seller, I dont want to be scammed again. All help will be gratefully received. Thank you

I only ever sold one i phone my daughter's, and made it a collection item. Then, it was possible to accept cash , now it's not possible to accept cash, but, buyers have to pay through eBay checkout, and they receive a collection code. DO NOT release the phone to the buyer ( if you're listing as collection only) until you receive the code, and I would add it to the order in the presence of the buyer, to make sure it's correct.

As for item not as described cases, they can still open this, no photos or videos of the item will help in any case opened, but photograph add on the listing, and make a note of the IMEI number of the phone in case a different one is returned.

A buyer's feedback may also show if they are a good , honest buyer, this of course if they have a history for buying.

I also think most will advise, if you cannot afford to lose it, don't list it ! 🤔

Mentor10 months agoIf the tracking showed delivery to the order details then that shouldn't happen.

Mentor10 months agoeBay will believe any tracking that shows delivery, was this entered, and on time in to the case details, when that seller opened a case for item not received ?

Mentor10 months agoIf someone sets out to scam a seller on ebay it's almost impossible to stop them.  And phones are prime targets.  😞
