I don't understand how yto work the system
I placed an ad for a motorcycle jacket. I have been sent an offer by text message on my phone, but no offer is shown on the e-bay site.
I clicked accept on the text message on my phone but have no idea if the buyer got it. I am tearing my hair out and e-bay is not showing any way to get assistance.

Mentor2 weeks agoTo be honest, if you have best offer on listing and a potential buyer did not use the correct way of making an offer I would just ignore and possibly block from making a proper offer.
Once a buyer ignores the system it just spells trouble.

Mentor2 weeks agoSellers are not allowed to negotiate sales or accept offers by text. Bids or offers have to be made through eBay checkout, and any messages sent only through eBay. You will always be notified by eBay when an item has sold or legitimate offer been made.
How did your "buyer" get your phone number? eBay prohibits buyers and private sellers from providing contact details until after a sale has been concluded through eBay. This is partly to protect eBay, but also to protect users from fraud. Be aware that offers made outside of eBay are often unsafe.

Mentor2 weeks agoKeep to ebay. Tell buyer to make the offer on ebay and stick with that.
