I blocked a buyer because their messages made me uneasy. Somehow, they still won my listing. Help?
So, I listed a pricey item that was quite large, collection only due to its size, and I had a few messages about it. One buyer's messages made me feel really uneasy, and as a single woman living alone, my instincts were...I do not want this person to come to my house, even if they do win my listing. I blocked the seller and had a message come up on my screen to say they would not be able to contact me or bid on my items.
I was speaking to another buyer whose offer I was willing to accept; they made a bid and I ended my listing. But somehow, the person who I had blocked had outbid them - possibly using an ebay sniper.
My problem is this: I do not want this person I've blocked to come to my house to collect the item. I do not want to meet this person, I feel unsafe. Ebay's AI chatbots are doing nothing but returning error messages. How do I speak to a person about this? How do I get this item to the runner-up?

Mentor6 months agoI suspect the block didn’t apply because the buyer had already bid before you blocked them.
They set a maximum that then automatically kicked in when your other buyer bid, so when you ended the auction they were your highest bidder.
You can cancel the sale and do a second change offer but will have to use 'out of stock' which will give you a selling defect.

·6 months agoThere is no point in speaking to a person about this.
If you are not prepared to sell to a particular buyer, and they have bought the item, you will have to cancel the sale and refund the buyer.
This may have a negative impact on your account.
Then, double check that the buyer you don't want to deal with is on your blocked bidders list before you relist the item.

Mentor6 months agoYou can cancel the transaction using reason "Something wrong with buyer's address" (the nearest we have for a dodgy buyer). Then you will be able to use Second Chance Offer to offer to the underbidder.
