I am new to ebay - confused regarding two emails from ebay.....
Two emails received from ebay stating 'Security concerns' since they informed me I have been in touch with two ladies regarding a dress I posted this evening. I am not in touch with either ladies. I am being asked for verification of my bank details which they already have. Is this normal procedure?

Mentor6 months agoIf the mail has an extension of UBZ definately scam spoof messaging. THe mails originate from Uzbekistan (UBZ)

Mentor6 months agoI don't understand how the scammers linked the OP's account with an email address.
Phishing emails are usually random ones hoping to catch someone with an ebay account. They don't know there is an account or anything about it.
The ebay message scam is different, it relies on a scam ebay account contacting the member through their ebay account, so they obviously know what the account has for sale and that it is a new seller.
I know you know this, just musing 'out loud'.

Mentor6 months agoIf you haven't sold a dress they are phishing scams. In any case only ever enter personal details direct onto your ebay account, never via an email.

Mentor6 months agoAre they actually emails and not email messages, and how do you know they are women?
There is a scam going round where members impersonate ebay to get bank details, but it's through ebay messages, not emails.

Mentor6 months agoThese are phishing emails so do not click on any links or provide any information.
We're hearing a lot of these messages coming from ' eBay accounts' with ' username's so looking at first to be coming from eBay. They're not.
Out of interest do the accounts used for the messages, say registered in the States ?
For ward them to spoof@ebay.co.uk

Mentor6 months agoI loved the way you addressed me as ' spoof' , but I'm a mere member like yourself.
My suggestion in my post above ,was to use the link there to send that email message to the peeps who deal with these matters.
The most important thing is to not click on any links in those messages you received from an unknown source.
