How to resolve an eBay case - trying to get them to "step in"
Summary: margaux1953 seeks advice on resolving an eBay case, specifically asking how to get eBay to "step in" and assist with the situation. **peaseblossom** engages in the conversation but no specific advice or solutions are detailed in the discussion.
Hi Guys,
The short version of this is that a buyer opened a case about an item they aren't happy with on April 11th. We've both messaged and I've no intention of offering a refund, as I believe they are entirely incorrect. I would like eBay to step in and make a ruling - and if they side with the buyer then so be it.
Today is April 16th and I still don't have the option to ask eBay to "step in".
It's mixed messaging on the site - it's telling me that after 3 working days either party can ask them to step in? It also says "Remember to resolve the request by 17 Apr".
How do I move forward on this? The only options I appear to have are to "accept the return", "offer a full or partial refund" or to message the buyer.

Mentor3 months agoEscalation will be possible after the 17th. eBay will side with the buyer. It's pretty much automatic. If the buyer doesn't escalate the case should expire eventually.

OP3 months agoThank you - it's helpful to at least know when that's likely to occur - cheers.
It's irritating as I know I'm in the right on this one, and it's an expensive item that went half way round the world... but yeah, as you state, I am pretty much resigned to eBay just siding with the buyer.
