How to Post a Small Letter item
Does anyone know if and how I can offer Small Letter postage to potential buyers when I am listing for instance postcards or other such small flat items? I can only see the option of Large Letter through ebay's "simple" postage. Nobody will pay £2.70 postage for a postcard. I can't even offer Free Postage, as ebay will make ME pay the £2.70. Help please!

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedAll you need to do is use custom postage, and charge letter rate. You do not need to use simply postage for postcards, it means you do not have tracking, or protection against loss or damage but that is hardly any loss. Sales would be very low if Simple Delivery costs are greater than cost of item.
Unfortunately there is a glitch in the system at the moment and using Custom Postage needs you to create postage policy.

OP3 weeks agoThank you, John, for replying to my message and for trying to assist me. The problem is that I am not getting any other option than Simple Delivery and the offer of Large Letter. I am not sure how to "create postage policy " but I will take another look and see if there is an option somewhere for that. Thanks again.

OP3 weeks agoI am on the Postage Preferences page and there is no mention whatsoever of Custom Postage :-(

Or, take a look at which category other Private sellers have selected for selling postcards, those which can be seen selecting their own postage.
