How to complain to Ebay about Ebay (NOT the seller) - Ebay changed delivery adress on address label
Summary: sandra_b_5 initiated a discussion on how to file a complaint with eBay regarding a situation where eBay itself altered the delivery address on an address label, rather than an issue with a seller. tobiasd4 responded to the post, and there were follow-up responses between sandra_b_5 and tobiasd4. The discussion focused on understanding the correct procedure and channels for lodging such complaints against eBay policies or actions directly. However, specific details of the responses were not provided in the posts.
Hi,
I have been a buyer on Ebay for over 20 years and order very regulary as in my experience it's always been a very safe shopping platform and I've only very, very rarely had a problem with a seller. On this rare occasion my issue is with Ebay itself however and I would like to complain to them, but there seems to be no way of getting in touch with them if you are not complaining about an issue with the seller! FYI: Ebay provided the seller with an address label that shows my home address instead of the 24/7 Inpost locker collection point I have chosen for delivery and that is shown on my Ebay order page. There is a reason I dont have orders sent to my home and pure chance I actually received it. So I find it very concerning that Ebay can just switch the delivery addresses. Have no reason to doubt the seller - the adress label on the package had an Ebay pre printed label with my home address and I have ordered w/o a glitch from this seller multiple times before. Many thanks in advance,
Sandra

Mentor3 months agoWhat was the item and delivery service, e.g. express.
Depending on type of item and postage method, ebay can select most appropriate postage.
Please let us know what ebay say.

OP3 months agoThis is not my point. My order page correctly shows the 24/7 LOCKER I was offered at checkout and have chosen! NOT my home address where the order was sent to. And NO this is not my, the buyers fault. When the seller changed the courier from Yodle to Royal Mail, Ebay provided the seller with my home addres and the seller sent the item to my home address, even though the order confirmation shows the 24/7 locker as delivery address. This is even from a privacy standpoint not legal and how this can happen Ebay so far hasnt been able to give a satisfactory answer to. I managed to get through to them via phone. and they are now investigating after they kept insisting Ebay could have only provided the seller with one address, the 24/7 locker address listed on the order page. Well, the seller was provided with my home address by ebay, that's a fact, otherwise how could he have sent it to that address?? They only accepted that fact after they asked me to send them a foto of the package I have received with my home address label.

Mentor3 months agoNot all items can sent to lockers, how would RM deliver to them without access codes.
It is up to buyers to check delivery address at checkout.
