How long does it take for buyer to close a payment dispute?
Bit of a muck up on my behalf, sold one item worth £30 and another for £90. Mixed up postal labels and they’ve gone to wrong buyers. Two issues, the woman that bought the £30 item received the £90 item and instead of messaging me has opened a payment dispute with her bank, her reason for the dispute was not clear and just mentioned she wants her item (didn’t mention receiving wrong item). She’s now managed to reply to me and explained, and no I have asked her to close the dispute, so that I can refund her quickly and get this sorted.
does anyone know if closing a payment dispute is quick, or is it the same dragged out process as just agreeing the dispute and waiting months for it to be looked at by her bank?
Her correct item is on its way to the US via Global shipping so that is going to be a headache to sort !

Mentor10 months agoIf she's opened a not as described chargeback via her bank then she'll receive a full refund and get to keep the item unless you can persuade her to close the claim (which she'll be advised not to do).
Sorry, this situation is all a bit messy, you may well end up losing the payments from both sales here.

OP10 months agoHi, yes thanks for your reply, I understand this. But my question is what is the length of time to close a dispute, is it as drawn out as not closing it?
I want to get her a refund quickly and sort the issue as fast as possible.
