How do I mark and cash on collection item as paid ?
I sold a trailer which was collected today and the buyer paid me in full in cash, how do I mark the item on eBay as paid ?

OP11 months agoIt was a trailer for towing behind a car, I used the category eBay suggested: Motors -> Vehicle Parts & Accessories -> Car Care, Utility & Trailers -> Car Trailers

Mentor11 months agoYou listed it in the correct category, but as @tressygirl mentioned, your buyer should have paid via eBay checkout.
It's only actual vehicles that are cash on collection.

OP11 months agoThanks, I'll have to leave it showing as unpaid for even though it has been paid in full.

Mentor11 months agoIf it was listed in the vehicles category you should be able to mark as paid via Orders > Awaiting payment.
If it was not listed as vehicle eBay don't actually allow cash on collection for non-vehicles these days. You can try the above but if it's not there there's nothing you can do to show payment has been received.

Mentor11 months agoYou cannot, cash on collection is not allowed anymore, as you can see if you look back at your listing there is no ' Cash on Collection ' option.
On ' paper' you have done an off eBay deal, against the rules to accept cash.
The buyer should pay through eBay checkout and the options are to pay via card payment, Google / Apple pay , PayPal. The buyer is then provided with a collection code to hand to the seller to scan, this is the only method to show collection, you will not be able to do this.
How did your buyer receive your address to come and collect ?

In which case my above answer is incorrect apologies, Cash / bank transfer is the only safe method of payment, for a vehicle, but it should be clear where to mark as collected.
As you could not see this option, that threw me sorry, thinking then it was not a vehicle ? 🤔
