How can I set postage for items that are larger than the Simple Delivery options?
I spoke to an Ebay agent yesterday who advised I should start a new draft & "Custom postage" should come up, unfortunately it doesn't. If I change the courier options to Evri only, the system changes all of my items for sale to Evri only, not just the item that measures 68cm x 33cm x 12cm.
Obviously I could put collection only but that restricts the number of buyers.
If I offer free postage I would need to buy a separate label & ignore the simple Delivery Label. Then add this information to the description & email the customer the new tracking number. Is this the best way to do it?
I did something similar last week when a customer wanted Special Delivery, guaranteed the next day, bought a separate label, I just messaged the customer the tracking number, Ebay said as the customer has put feedback on that item that is good enough to confirm that item has been received.
Seems that Ebay have missed this out of Simple delivery? Any advice would be useful.

OP7 months agoHi Peaseblossom,
Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
I have a slightly different query about postage. I hope you don't mind me reaching out to you again.
Customer has purchased 2 items with "free postage" that the system combined & then another item they pay postage with, the system did not allow the 3rd item to be combined with the first 2.
I can post all in one box for the postage they have paid on the 3rd item that will cover all 3 items.
The system is not allowing me to mark the first 2 items as "mark as despatched" so unless I click & use the postage label the item will sit as not sent?
Any thoughts on this one would be helpful please.
Also I sent a claim for the postage refund on the previous item you helped me with (see emails above), should I expect an email from Ebay to say that they have refunded, as I've not heard anything from them, or will it just show up on my financial statement at the end of the month? It was within the 14 day window they specify.
Kind Regards

Mentor8 months agoYes, if you list with free postage you can factor that cost into your item price. To get the buyer's address and mark dispatched you can open the original prepaid label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code). We can no longer change the tracking but would be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if that were necessary.
You can claim a refund for an unused label here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
The line about needing to be sent with a tracked service in order to receive the refund no longer applies.
Without tracking on ebay the payment may be held for 14 days.

OP7 months agoThank you very much for your reply. I messaged the customer with the Special Delivery Tracking number & they put feedback on the day they received the item so I believe I was covered all round.
I also did not know I could claim a refund for the postage, the Ebay agent didn't tell me that, so I've submitted my refund request & I'll wait to see what happens.
Kind Regards
