How can a cancelled sale appear as Sold in advanced search
Bidder did not complete purchase so transaction cancelled but item now listed as Sold in Advanced Search.
As I have had to relist, this is off-putting for prospective buyers. This is a paid listing.
The sale was cancelled so why is it appearing as sold. Feeling let down by eBay.

Mentor3 weeks agoDid you give buyer an unpaid strike?
Not paying does not mean item did not sell. If you are so concerned put in the description, relisted due to previous buyer not paying.

OP2 days agoThank you for taking the time to reply. I did not give the buyer an unpaid strike. I relisted as "due to timewaster". If I relist again an Advanced Search shows the item as Sold. This puts off prospective buyers & raises suspicions when they see the very same bike relisted as For Sale by the seller. Have spent hours with ebay robot trying to get this sorted, but no help. Thank you.

OP2 days agoThank you for your response. Yes a contract was agreed but I cancelled it with eBay through the correct channels so they know it was not sold but still list it as sold in their Advanced Search. This puts off prospective buyers and raises suspicions. I want to relist but won't do so until eBay remove the item from their Sold category. Automatic customer services are no help to anyone. Thank you.

An item is termed sold when a listing ends with a winning buyer. This doesn't change even if they don't complete the purchase. Any fees payable are charged immediately an item sells. If you were a business seller, these would have been refunded if you cancelled the sale for non-payment.
Sorry, but that's that's just the way that eBay works.
