Hi, I need help with my open return. The seller agreed to accept the return but advised me to use “Change of mind”. I cannot change the current reason, which is “Item defective”. How can I proceed without cancelling my existing return?

You can't change the reason, if you close the case to attempt to change it you cannot open another.

The seller is trying to get you to change it so they don't have to pay the return postage,the seller needs to supply a prepaid return label if the item is defective, if you don't get a label within 4 days return to the case and ask eBay to step in, they will give you either a label or refund normally

ONce you close a case you cannot reopen another so DO NOT close it. The seller is trying to trick you in to not issuing a refund at all.

If you were able to change it (you can't, by the way) then your seller could decline it. Seems like they may be playing you here if you received a defective item.
