Help with a buyer wanting a refund?
Summary: The original post by kagib_5832 appears to seek help with a buyer requesting a refund, however, both the initial content and the response from red_magpie indicate 'None,' suggesting that the discussion may lack substantive content or has been redacted.
This is my first time having a buyer say there’s an issue or wanting a refund. I sold a ton of Pokémon cards. I said in the description I didn’t know the value of the cards or the authenticity. Just wanted them gone. The buyer asked further about the authenticity and why I didn’t think they were real and I said I got them several years ago in primary school. I didn’t honestly think I had a £600 card. My luck isn’t that good. And I don’t have the means to spend £500 at PSA to try and see if they are real. I’ve never been into Pokémon. I just collected them when it was popular and traded for the pretty ones. Now they want a refund and are saying the products got damaged on delivery? But I packaged it nicely, used a cushioned envelope and all. It looked really pretty and I got myself a lollipop while I was there as a reward 🤭 but having said that I’ve already withdrew the funds and they had multiple days to mention there’s an issue. The simple delivery says they have sorted it and I won’t need to refund the buyer and I won’t receive the item back. Any help? I’m really new to this and I’m way out my depth. I just don’t want any trouble 😅

Mentor2 months agoIf you sent it by simple delivery, and the buyer's complaint is that it arrived damaged on delivery, eBay will meet the cost of refunding the buyer.
Frankly, it sounds as though you have been very lucky. You're not allowed to sell fake items on eBay (or anywhere else). You can't get around this by saying that you don't know their authenticity. If the buyer had complained that the cards were counterfeit you would have been required to refund them.
