Hazardous item

Question

I have had two fire extinguishers removed as potentially hazardous items. This despite having bought them off EBay previously. I have explained in appeal that the items are empty and contains no hazardous substance. I have sold similar on EBay with no issues. However, the appeal was denied (by AI I suspected) with no recourse to challenge other than go to law which seems ridiculous. Any suggestions?

There's a category for fire extinguishers so they are permitted to be sold.

I couldn't tell you why AI has singled your listing out, it seems pretty random, but if you appealed and lost that then you'll be unable to list those items on eBay. I certainly wouldn't try again in case it impacts your selling account.

Comment --- Any used item which has ever/previously contained a potentially hazardous material is likely to be removed including used cigarette lighters, vehicle carburettors, fuel tanks etc. as a shipping hazard.
