Handling Returns and Buyer Conflicts
Summary: irfan21 sold a brand new Samsung S26 and is dealing with a return request from a buyer who is concerned about the phone showing as 'European' instead of 'UK' based on the IMEI. The phone has already been slightly opened and activated, which complicates the return. irfan21 seeks advice on managing returns and handling conflicts in transactions based on this experience. They are particularly interested in others' experiences and best practices for such situations.
Hello everyone,
I recently sold a brand new, sealed Samsung S26 (UK model) and encountered a situation with the buyer that I hope to get your thoughts on. The buyer wanted to return the phone because they checked the IMEI online and it showed "European" instead of "UK" as the country of purchase. I explained that UK and European models share the same software, and I have UK proof of purchase.
However, the buyer had already opened the seal slightly, which they confirmed. I checked online and found that the phone has been activated, with the warranty ending on 30th September 2027. The buyer opened a return case, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle this.
How would you handle such a situation? Have you experienced similar conflicts with buyers? What are some best practices for managing returns and ensuring clarity in sale transactions? Looking forward to your insights and experiences.

In short you have to accept or you could lose money and phone. Do not refund until item returned.
